Baroness Stowell of Beeston, Chair of the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee, has welcomed the publication of the Draft Media Bill which has been published today.

Baroness Stowell, said:

“I am delighted to see the draft Media Bill. This is an important piece of legislation that will help UK broadcasters address an increasingly competitive and challenging marketplace.

“I am particularly pleased to see the inclusion of provisions for radio, which is a key area that must not be forgotten. I call on the Government to bring this legislation forward in its final form as soon as possible so UK media organisations are well-equipped to best serve all audiences.”
