Dissolution of Parliament

The dissolution of Parliament took place on Thursday 30 May 2024. All business in the House of Commons and House of Lords has come to an end. There are currently no MPs and every seat in the Commons is vacant until after the general election on 4 July 2024.

Strathclyde Review

On Tuesday 8 March, the Lords Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee (SLSC) will hold the final evidence sessions of its inquiry into Lord Strathclyde's review and its implications for the effective scrutiny of secondary legislation.

  • At 4:00pm on Tuesday 8 March, the Committee will take oral evidence from Earl Howe, Deputy Leader of the House of Lords.
  • At 4.45pm, oral evidence will be given by Lord Strathclyde, former Leader of the House of Lords and author of the review.

The evidence session will be held in Committee Room 3 of the House of Lords.
