Year 10 Citizenship students discuss digital democracy with Commissioner Femi Oyeniran
Femi Oyeniran chaired a discussion with Year 10 Citizenship students on Friday 18 July 2014.
The Digital Democracy Commission Team took the students on a tour of the building and discussed how Parliament worked. This was then followed by a 45 minute session with Commissioner Femi on Parliament's communications with young people.
Key points from discussion:
- Young people care about issues, not politics.
- Social media, short films and visits to schools are key for MPs and Parliament to communicate with young people.
- Party manefestos should be easier to understand.
