THE PROVISION OF RAILWAY SERVICES IN WALES
The Committee is to conduct a follow up inquiry to the Transport in Wales Report, published on Tuesday 14 January (Second Report, 2002-03, HC 205), and the Government’s response, published on 2 April 2003 (Second Special Report, 2002-03, HC 580).
The inquiry will concentrate on the provision of services with in Wales and between Wales and England; investment in the infrastructure in Wales; the allocation of powers between the National Assembly for Wales and the UK Government; and the process for the award of the new Wales and Borders franchise.
Timetable for the inquiry
Interested parties are invited to make written submissions to the inquiry by
Friday 5 September 2003. Evidence should be sent to the Clerk of the Welsh Affairs Committee at the address above.
