Re-appointment of Mervyn King as Governor of the Bank of England: Announcement by the Chairman and forthcoming publication of Report
At its meeting today (Tuesday 29 April), the Treasury Committee agreed its Tenth Report of Session 2007-08 entitled Re-appointment of Mervyn King as Governor of the Bank of England.
Following the Committee's meeting to adopt the Report, the Chairman of the Committee, John McFall MP, said: “In order to avoid market uncertainty, I am announcing today with the Treasury Committee’s agreement that the Report to be published next week unanimously endorses the Governor’s re-appointment for a second term.”
The Committee’s Report will be published on Wednesday 7 May at 11.00 am as House of Commons Paper No. 524-I.
