Draft Report (Going for Gold: Transport for London's 2012 Olympic Games)

Draft Special Report [Government Response to the Ninth Report of the Committee, Session 2004-05: on European Community Competence and Transport], proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first and second time, and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Eighth Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Special Report to the House.

Ordered, That the Government response to the Ninth Report from the Committee, Session 2004-05, be appended to the Report.-(The Chairman.)

Traffic Policing and Technology: getting the balance right:

Chief Constable Meredydd Hughes, South Yorkshire Police, Association of Chief Police Officers, and Deputy Chief Constable Huw Jones, Assistant Inspector of Constabulary, Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary, gave oral evidence.

Ms Cynthia Barlow, Trustee, Road Peace, Ms Mary Williams, Chief Executive, Brake, Ms Paige Mitchell, Co-ordinator, Slower Speeds Initiative, Mr Kevin Delaney, Head of Traffic and Road Safety, the RAC Foundation for Motoring, and Mr Malcolm Bingham, Head of Roads and Traffic Management, Freight Transport Association, gave oral evidence.

Chief Inspector Jan Berry, Chair, Police Federation of England and Wales, and Chief Superintendent Derek Barnett, Police Superintendent's Association of England and Wales, gave oral evidence.
