Session 2008-09 12 November 2009
PUBLICATION OF REPORT: Draft Legislative Reform (Revocation of Prescribed Form of Penalty Notice for Disorderly Behaviour) Order 2009
The draft Legislative Reform (Revocation of Prescribed Form of Penalty Notice for Disorderly Behaviour) Order 2009 and Explanatory Document (ED) were laid before Parliament on 21 October 2009 by the Ministry of Justice under section 14(1) of the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006 (LRRA).
The draft Order would de-prescribe the PND form so that police forces would be free to adopt their own models. The Department believes that that would assist in the transition from paper-based systems to more efficient electronic issuing procedures.
The Committee recommends that the draft Order be approved.
The Committee's assessment of the draft Order will be published as its Tenth Report of the 2008-09 Session at 2.00 pm on Wednesday 18 November 2009. It will be available from Stationery Office outlets (Ref HC 1108).
The text of the report will also be available on the Committee's website from 3.30 pm on the day of publication. (www.parliament.uk/regrefcom)
