Public Administration Select Committee: Press Notices

The Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) is to hold an evidence session on the role of special advisers in government and the code of conduct governing their activities. The session will focus in particular on the role of special advisers working in Downing Street following the resignation of the special adviser Daman McBride and the subsequent change to the Code of Conduct for Special Advisers.

The session will be held on Thursday 7 May, at 10.00am in the Thatcher Room, Portcullis House. The witnesses will be:

Jonathan Baume, General Secretary, FDA;

Sir Richard Mottram, former Permanent Secretary;

Lance Price, former special adviser to the Prime Minister;

Peter Riddell, Chief Political Commentator, The Times, and Senior Fellow, the Institute of Government;

and (from around 11:00 am)

Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (at around 11:00 am).
