The House of Commons Procedure Committee will hold the final oral evidence session in its inquiry into written parliamentary questions on Wednesday 11 March 2009 in Committee Room 20, Upper Committee Corridor, when evidence will be heard from:

The terms of reference for this inquiry are:

• To consider the procedures, scope and rules governing the tabling (including the electronic tabling) of parliamentary questions for written answer;

• To examine the reasons for, and the consequences of, the recent rise in the number of such questions; and

• To consider the procedures for the answering of such questions and what opportunities are available to Members to pursue answers with which they are not satisfied.
