Session 2004-05 16 December 2004
PUBLICATION OF REPORT
WEDNESDAY 5 JANUARY 2005 2.00PM
THE DRAFT REGIONAL ASSEMBLIES BILL
The Committee on the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister: Housing, Planning, Local Government and the Regions will be publishing its First Report of Session 2004-05 on
the Draft Regional Assemblies Bill
on Wednesday 5 January 2005.
This Report was originally intended to improve the draft Regional Assemblies Bill which is now unlikely to proceed through Parliament in the near future. The report puts down some markers for the Government to consider if, in the light of the result of the referendum in the north east on 4 November 2004, it considers it appropriate to return to the question of introducing elected regional assemblies.
Copies of the Report will be available on Wednesday 5 January to witnesses and the media. To request an electronic copy, please contact Ian Hook on 020 7219 4972 or
mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday 21 December.
The text of the Report will be available on the Committee's website from 3.30 pm on Wednesday 5 January
