Administration of Justice

The Committee will hold a one-off evidence session on the Administration of Justice.

The Committee will examine the evolution of the role of the Lord Chief Justice. This follows the publication of Her Majesty's Courts Service Framework Document which sets out the new partnership between the Lord Chef Justice and the Lord Chancellor after the creation of the Ministry of Justice in 2007. The Committee will also cover: issues raised by the Lord Chief Justice in his Annual Review of the Administration of Justice in the Courts; judicial diversity; and sentencing.

Details of the oral evidence session are as follows:

Wednesday 2 July in The Thatcher Room, Portcullis House.

At 9.15 am: Rt Hon Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales.
