Committee canvasses MPs on processing of immigration cases
Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chairman of the Home Affairs Committee, has asked all MPs to complete a questionnaire about how they feel their representations to the Home Office on immigration cases are dealt with.
The Committee will be holding a one-off evidence session to consider the process by which MPs make representations to UK Visas in individual immigration cases, and the role and responsiveness of UK Visas staff in dealing with those representations.
"I am canvassing the views of other Members to inform this evidence session, which will be held with Meg Hillier MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Identity for the Home Office."
"MPs deal with a large numbers of immigration cases on behalf of their constituents. It is therefore absolutely vital that MPs are able to receive information regarding constituents as quickly as possible and that their representations are dealt with efficiently and effectively."
