Committees announce day of evidence on Human Rights Legislation and Government Policy-Making

The Constitutional Affairs and Home Affairs Committees will hold a day of evidence sessions on 'Human Rights Legislation and Government Policy-Making' on Tuesday 31 October in The Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House. The programme for the day is as follows:

11.00 am to 11.45 am Jonathan Fisher QC, Head of Research, Society of Conservative Lawyers

11.45 am to 12.30 pm Rabinder Singh QC, Matrix Chambers

2.00 pm to 3.00 pm Rt Hon Lord Justice Maurice Kay, Lord Justice of Appeal

3.00 pm to 4.00 pm Rt Hon Lord Falconer QC, Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs and Lord Chancellor, and Rt Hon Baroness Scotland of Asthal QC, Minister of State, Home Office

4.30 pm to 5.00 pm Question and answer session with media, interested bodies and members of the public

The sessions will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in Committee Rooms. It is advisable to allow about 20 minutes to pass through security checks.
