Further oral evidence session
The Home Affairs Committee has been conducting an inquiry into Asylum Applications. In light of recent developments a further oral evidence session has been arranged with Beverley Hughes MP, Home Office Minister of State, and Home Office officials. The session will take place on Wednesday 19 November at 2.30 pm. The session will focus on:
The Government's announcement on 24 October that up to 15,000 families who sought asylum in the UK more than three years ago will be considered for permission to live and work here, and
The Government's proposed new legislative measure on asylum announced on 27 October.
The session will take place in either the Palace of Westminster or Portcullis House committee rooms. The session will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis.
