Announcement of New Inquiry

The Decision to go to War in Iraq

The Foreign Affairs Committee will hold an inquiry into “The Decision to go to War in Iraq.”  The inquiry will consider whether the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, within the Government as a whole, presented accurate and complete information to Parliament in the period leading up to military action in Iraq, particularly in relation to Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.  The Committee will hear oral evidence from several witnesses in June and will report to the House in July.

The Committee would welcome written evidence from interested parties on this inquiry. These should be received by Monday 16th June, either in hard copy to the above address or, preferably, by e-mail to , with a clear indication of the originator’s name and address.

An announcement of oral evidence hearings will be made in due course.
