FCO ANNUAL REPORT 2003-2004: Invitation to Submit Evidence

On 29 April, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) published its latest annual report, ' FCO Departmental Report 1 April 2003-31 March 2004'.  The report sets out the Government's Expenditure Plans for 2003-06, in respect of the FCO, and presents information on the Department's work in the last year.

As in previous years, the Foreign Affairs Committee will inquire into the Report.  The inquiry will examine a wide range of issues, including the FCO's financial and personnel management, the work of the British Council and the BBC World Service, and the Office's management of its overseas estate.

The Committee would welcome written memoranda on the Departmental Report. Interested parties should submit either in hard copy to the above address or, preferably, by e-mail to foraffcom@parliament.uk by Monday 7 June 2004, indicating clearly their name and address.  If you have any questions about the session or on the submission of evidence, please contact the Second Clerk on: 020 7219 3309.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Annual Report 2003-04 (CM 6213) is available at http://www.fco.gov.uk/Files/kfile/FullReport.pdf or can be obtained in hard copy from the Parliamentary Bookshop (12 Bridge Street, Westminster, SW1A 2JX, Tel 020 7219 3890) or The Stationery Office (Tel 0345 58 54 63) priced at £27.00.
