Evidence Sessions & Invitation to Submit Written Evidence


The Foreign Affairs Committee has decided to follow up its inquiry into Zimbabwe and will hold the following two evidence sessions.

● On Tuesday 21st January 2003 expert witnesses will give evidence at 3.15pm in Committee Room 16. The final witness list has yet to be confirmed.

● On Tuesday 25th March 2003 Baroness Amos, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, and Officials, Foreign and Commonwealth Office will give evidence at 3.00pm. The venue has yet to be confirmed.

The finalised details of the two evidence sessions will be posted on the Committee's website as soon as they are known. The Committee would greatly welcome written memoranda from interested parties on Zimbabwe.  These should be received if possible by 16th January 2003, either in hard copy to the above address or, preferably, by e-mail to, with a clear indication of the originator's name and address.

The above meetings are open to the public. Access is via St Stephen's entrance for the House of Commons Committee Rooms and the Main entrance on the Thames Embankment for Portcullis House Rooms. It is advisable to allow about 10 minutes to pass through security checks.  There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in the Committee Rooms. Committee Rooms are subject to change.  Those interested in attending Committee meetings are advised to check the House of Commons Committee Information Line which provides recorded information about forthcoming meetings including venues, subjects under discussion and contact numbers for further information.
