Education and Employment Committee

The House of Commons Education and Employment Select Committee shadowed the work of the Department for Education and Employment from 1995 to 2001.

The Education and Skills Committee was established in 2001 to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Education and Skills and its associated public bodies.

The Work and Pensions Committee carries out the same duties in respect of the Department for Work and Pensions, which combines most of the former Department of Social Security with most of the employment functions of the former Department for Education and Employment.
