ORAL EVIDENCE SESSIONS
SDR NEW CHAPTER
The third evidence session in connection with the inquiry has been arranged as follows:
Wednesday 20 November
10.30am:Colonel Michael Taylor CBE TD DL (Chairman), Colonel Sir David Trippier RD JP DL, Colonel J R G Putnam CBE TD DL and Colonel D H R Stephenson CBE from The Council of Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Associations
11.45am:Mr John Bridgeman, Chairman, National Employers' Advisory Board for the Reserves of the Armed Forces
The terms of reference for this inquiry were published in news release No.34 of session 2001-02.
The first evidence sessions of the inquiry were held on 16 October, with MoD officials, and on 6 November with the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Sir Michael Boyce.
Further evidence sessions will be announced in due course.
NATO PRAGUE SUMMIT
An evidence session has been arranged, on the outcome of the NATO Prague Summit (21-22 November), as follows:

CHIEF OF DEFENCE LOGISTICS
An evidence session has been arranged with the MoD's Chief of Defence Logistics, who was appointed in September 2002, as follows:
Wednesday 4 December at 10.30am: Air Chief Marshal Sir Malcolm Pledger KCB OBE AFC
The Committee will be examining, amongst other things, the new strategy being developed for the Defence Logistics Organisation and its role in delivering the 'smart acquisition' initiative and the New Chapter of the Strategic Defence Review.
ARMY TRAINING AND RECRUITING AGENCY (ATRA)
An evidence session has been arranged with the Chief Executive of ATRA, an executive agency of the MoD, as follows:
Wednesday 11 December at 10.30am: Major General David Leakey.
This is the latest of the Defence Committee's long standing examinations of the work of the MoD's executive agencies, and provides an opportunity to review the Army's progress towards meeting its manpower targets as well as to look at various other issues affecting the responsibilities of the Agency.
Meetings will take place in committee rooms in the Palace of Westminster or Portcullis House. It is advisable to ring the office on 020 7219 5745 to check the precise venue a few days in advance of the session.
