Extension of Web Forum

The Defence Committee is extending its web forum on Medical Care for the Armed Forces for a further week to allow more time for people to comment on the final evidence session, which will be held tomorrow morning. Defence Minister Derek Twigg MP will be joined by Health Minister Ben Bradshaw MP, as well as officials from both the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Health, to conclude the programme of oral evidence for the inquiry.

The Committee hopes to hear opinions from serving personnel and veterans, Service families and healthcare professionals as well as members of the public who have been following the inquiry since it started in May.

Chairman of the Defence Committee, Rt Hon James Arbuthnot MP, says, “There is a great deal of public interest in healthcare for our Armed Forces, and we would like to hear what people think of our final evidence session. So we have extended the web forum by a week to give Service personnel, their families, NHS staff and anyone else with an interest the chance to read and comment on all the evidence.”

All written and oral evidence can be seen at Anyone who wants to participate in the web forum can do so at:
