The Business & Enterprise Committee today announces the next oral evidence session of its inquiry into the UK’s energy market. It will be questioning the gas and electricity market regulator, and three major gas producers. Issues the Committee will explore include:

• Ofgem’s probe and the case for a Competition Commission referral of the energy markets;
• The link between European and UK gas prices;
• Customer switching and the treatment of prepayment meter users; and
• The effectiveness of the Fuel Poverty Action Programme
