The Business & Enterprise Committee today announces the third oral evidence session of its inquiry into the UK’s energy market, which will be focusing on fuel poverty. Issues the Committee will explore include:

• The content of Ofgem’s Fuel Poverty Action Programme;
• Energy suppliers’ progress in developing social tariffs;
• The role of Warm Front and the Winter Fuel Payment in tackling fuel poverty; and
• Tariffs for prepayment meter users.

The Chairman of the Business and Enterprise Committee, Peter Luff MP said: “The growing concern over rising fuel prices, and the prospect of further increases later this year, makes this a timely and important session of our inquiry”.
