Turkey: Trade & EU Accession

The Business & Enterprise Committee will the second oral evidence session next week as part of its inquiry into Turkey: Trade & EU Accession.

Subjects likely to be covered include:

€ Turkey as a market for UK firms: opportunities, risks and barriers;
€ Issues for UK businesses in the customs union (for goods trade) between the EU and Turkey;
€ Turkey as a gateway to markets beyond, such the Central Asian Republics and the Middle East, in particular for energy,;
€ the prospects for EU accession;
€ The role of UK Trade and Investment in Turkey;
€ The role of business in the bilateral relationship;
€ The role of the proposed UK-Turkey inter-governmental forum.
