Accessing the scrutiny work of the Committee

08 March 2019

The Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee has published its 45th Report, on 'Accessing the scrutiny work of the Committee and information resources relating to secondary legislation'.

The Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee (SLSC) has published a report intended to refresh the understanding of the House about the role of the SLSC and also to provide practical guidance about how to access the work of the SLSC and its Sub-Committees.

Contents

The report contains information on the 'sifting' function of the Committee, relating to proposed negative instruments laid under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, and the Committee's role in scrutinising all instruments upon which proceedings may be, or might have been, taken in Parliament.

It also highlights where information and resources relating to the Committee's work can be found, such as in House of Lords Business or on our Reports and Information Paragraph page.
