European Union Committee reports on UK/Spain reciprocal election agreement

The European Union Committee has published its eighth report on Brexit-related international agreements.

Background

This report considers one agreement that has been reported for information:

  • Agreement between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Kingdom of Spain on the Participation in Certain Elections of nationals of Each Coutnry Resident in the Territory of the Other (CP 71)

This agreement allows British citizens in Spain and Spanish citizens in the UK to continue to participate, and stand, in local elections.
