The House of Lords EU Home Affairs Sub-Committee, chaired by Lord Hannay of Chiswick, conducted an inquiry into the EU Internal Security Strategy. The report was published on 24 May 2011 and was debated by the House on 19 January 2012.
The report emphasised the vital contribution the EU makes to UK security and urged swift action to implement European Union proposals to improve security in the UK and other Member States
