Agricultural resilience report debated by Lords

28 November 2016

On Tuesday 22 November, the House of Lords debated the European Union Committee's report, 'Responding to price volatility: creating a more resilient agricultural sector'.

On 16 May 2016 the House of Lords EU Energy and Environment Sub-Committee published a report into agricultural price volatility. In the report, the Committee recommends that the UK Government do more to promote diversification of farms, promote the use of financial instruments, collaborate with the private sector to develop new financial tools and, with the European Commission, do more to promote links between research projects and agribusinesses.
