Government publishes Investigatory Powers Bill

The Home Office introduced the Investigatory Powers Bill on 1 March 2016. At the same time, it published its response to the three parliamentary reports on the draft Bill.

Committee's Report

The Government has responded to the Committee's report published on 11 February 2016. The report outlined a number of areas on which the Committee wished to see the Government provide greater clarity, including:

  • Encryption
  • Bulk Powers
  • Internet Connection Records (ICRs)
  • Review provision
