The Joint Committee on the Able Marine Energy Park Development Consent Order 2014 consisted of six Members appointed from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
The Committee was appointed in Session 2013-14 under section 5 of the Statutory Orders (Special Procedure) Act 1945. Two petitions against the Able Marine Energy Park Development Consent Order 2014 stood referred to the Committee under the Act, and the Committee was charged with hearing the case for and against the requests made in each of the two petitions. The Committee then had to report its decisions back to the two Houses. It could recommend that the Order should be approved with or without amendments or that it should not be implemented at all.
