Committee holds evidence session on Employment Support Allowance

The Work & Pensions Committee are holding the first oral evidence session of their inquiry into the migration of Incapacity Benefit (IB) to Employment Support Allowance (ESA), on Wednesday 4 May. The session will take place at 9:30am in the Grimond Room, Portcullis House


  • Sue Royston, Social Policy Officer responsible for Sickness and Disability Benefits, Citizen’s Advice Bureau
  • Jane Harris, Associate Director of Communications and Campaigns, Rethink
  • Roy O'Shaughnessy, Chief Executive, Careers Development Group
  • Professor Paul Gregg, University of Bristol

This is the first evidence session for this inquiry. It will provide an opportunity to assess the migration process with organisations which represent claimants, an academic expert and a prime Welfare to Work provider.
