MPs hear evidence on young trans people, and criminal justice

The second session of the Women and Equalities Committee’s inquiry into equality for trans people discusses issues affecting young trans people, followed by issues affecting trans people in the criminal justice system.

Panel one: Issues affecting trans youth

Issues likely to be discussed include young trans people in society, gender dysphoria in young people, accessing the NHS Gender Identity Development Service, quality and capacity of NHS Gender Identity Service, physical treatment options, schools, higher and further education, and social care.

Discussion likely to cover Court Service, Prison Service, National Probation Service, and numbers of trans people in the criminal justice system.
