Barclays' customers can continue to withdraw cash from post offices

25 October 2019

Earlier this month, Barclays announced that it would stop its customers withdrawing cash from post offices. Barclays has today announced that it will now continue to allow its customers to withdraw cash from post offices.

Chair's comments

Commenting on the announcement, Rt Hon. Mel Stride MP, Chair of the Treasury Committee, said:

“The Treasury Committee has recently called Barclays’ decision to no longer allow its customers to withdraw cash from post offices hugely disappointing. I raised this issue as a priority in my first speech in Parliament as Committee Chair today.

“Barclays' decision is hugely welcome.”
