The Transport Committee holds inquiries into issues relating to the policy, administration and expenditure of the Department for Transport and its associated bodies, such as the Highways Agency and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
The Committee Members choose topics for inquiry. These may relate to recent Government announcements, reviews of Government policy or operational matters, or issues raised by constituents or the public. Inquiries may also follow up previous committee reports or issues raised by witnesses in the context of other inquiries.
We welcome ideas from the public for future inquiry topics. However, the Committee does not normally consider individual cases or local transport issues or projects unless they raise issues of national significance.
