Minister questioned on rail issues

This is a one-off oral evidence session with the Rail Minister, Andrew Jones MP, and Polly Payne, Director General, Rail Group, Department for Transport. 

Focus of the session

The session is intended to scrutinise the work of the Department for Transport on rail issues, with a focus on:

  • Rail franchising, including issues with the Rail Pension Scheme;
  • Accessibility, including trains and stations;
  • Infrastructure investment and timetabling, following up on the Committee’s 2018 reports on these issues; and 
  • Rail fares, ticketing and compensation
