Committee investigate local roads funding and governance

This is the final oral evidence session of the local roads funding and governance inquiry during which the Committee will be hearing from the Minister of State for Transport, Jesse Norman MP, and Steve Berry, Head of Highways Maintenance, Innovation, Resilience, Light Rail and Cableways Branch, Department for Transport (DfT).

 

Focus of the session

The session is expected to examine the DfT’s role in local road maintenance and planning and hear the Minister’s views on: funding adequacy and reform, encouraging best practice and collaboration, gathering and deploying data to drive high standards and save money, and supporting innovation.
