Vauxhall was too slow to begin a full investigation into fires affecting Zafira B models and too quick to attribute them to improper and unauthorised repair, say MPs on the Transport Committee.

Scope of the session

The Transport Committee questions representatives of Vauxhall and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) about Vauxhall Zafira and Corsa fires and safety recalls, and how the automotive industry can best deal with vehicle fires.

Related one-off session

The Transport Committee held a one-off evidence session to examine Vauxhall Zafira B fires on 19 July 2016. The Committee questioned representatives from Vauxhall Motors and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency on their response to the car fires occurring in Zafira B models, and in particular the vehicle recalls issued in December 2015 and May 2016.
