The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee will hold a pre-appointment hearing with Lord Jonathan Evans, the Government's preferred candidate for the position of Chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life.
Lord Evans is a non-executive director of HSBC, KPMG and Ark Data Centres. He was Director General of the Security Service (MI5) from 2007 to 2013.
The Committee on Standards in Public Life was created in 1994 to examine areas of concern about the standards of conduct of public office holders, advise the Prime Minister accordingly, and to promote the highest standards of conduct across public life.
