On Monday 14 March, the Petitions Committee publishes its first ever report following its inquiry into a petition calling for more funding for research into brain tumours. The report outlines its findings and make recommendations to the Government.
Background to the report
The Petitions Committee began its inquiry into funding for research into brain tumours in October 2015, following a petition started by Maria Lester, whose brother, Stephen Realf, lost his life as a result of a brain tumour.
To mark the occasion, the Committee is holding a launch event in the Houses of Parliament.
The Committee together with the petition creators and campaigners will talk about the Committee’s findings and what will happen next. Those who contributed to the Committee’s inquiry have been invited. The event will be recorded and made available to watch from this webpage.
The petition now has over 120,000 signatures and will be debated in Parliament. The date of the debate will be announced by the Petitions Committee shortly.
