On 5 December the Committee agreed to take oral evidence from the Community Relations Council. The session was held on Wednesday 9 January 2012.

The Community Relations Council was set up in 1990 to promote better community relations between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland and to promote recognition of cultural diversity. Its strategic aim is to promote a peaceful and fair society based on reconciliation and mutual trust.
