The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee hears from electricity suppliers, industry bodies and academics in electricity follow-up inquiry.

Purpose of the session

The session will look at recent developments in the electricity sector and their impact on creating a competitive, secure and efficient energy supply in Northern Ireland. It will also look at the prospective development of a North-South Interconnector, and wider opportunities and challenges - including those posed by Brexit - for the electricity sector in Northern Ireland. The potential for future investment and the long-term strategy for the sector will also be examined.
