Criminal Legal aid: Bar Council and Criminal Bar Association questioned

The Justice Committee is holding an evidence session on criminal legal aid.

Purpose of the session

The purpose of this session is to provide an opportunity for the Bar Council and the Criminal Bar Association (CBA) to explain their concerns about the revised Advocates’ Graduated Fee Scheme (AGFS) and about criminal legal aid more generally.

The AGFS is currently the subject of a dispute between the Bar Council/CBA and the Ministry of Justice.
