Purpose of the Session

This session continues the Committee's inquiry into sexual exploitation and abuse in the aid sector. The IDC will start with questions to the Charity Commission about the effectiveness of its regulation of the aid charities in this regard.

Then the Committee will question Secretary of State, Penny Mordaunt MP, on what DFID has been doing about these issues for the past 15-20 years; and examining what the Department plans to do now that – in the words of, Matthew Rycroft, its top civil servant – “nothing is any longer in the ‘too difficult’ box”.
