The Home Affairs Committee has agreed to carry out a short inquiry into anti-Semitism, looking at whether prejudice against the Jewish community has increased and the particular dangers facing Jewish people arising from terrorism.
Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chair of the Home Affairs Committee, said:
"There has been a clear and recognised upsurge in attacks against mosques and Muslim communities, but we are also seeing a disturbing rise in far-right extremist groups across Europe.
We have heard concerns about an increase in prejudice and violence against Jewish communities. We will hold a short inquiry to examine this issue and invite interested parties to give evidence."
Full details of the inquiry will be published shortly.
