Care Quality Commission’s state of care report examined

The Health and Social Care Committee hears from the Chair, Chief Executive and Chief Inspectors of the Care Quality Commission on the State of Care Report.

Purpose of the session

This session follows the publication of the 2017/18 CQC 'State of Care' report, which evaluates the quality of care provided across the health and social care sectors. The Committee will discuss the findings of the report with senior officials from CQC, and is expected to examine the performance of service providers as reflected by the regulator. The Committee will also question the Chair and Chief Executive about CQC’s own performance and the way it functions as a regulator.
