MPs take evidence on FCO's human rights work in 2012

06 June 2013

This is the first evidence session for the Committee’s inquiry into the FCO’s human rights work in 2012.

The terms of reference were announced on 17 April 2013, two days after the FCO published its "annual report" on human rights: Human Rights and democracy: The 2012 Foreign and Commonwealth Office Report. This evidence session is likely to range widely across the FCO’s human rights work, with a particular focus on safeguarding human rights while countering terrorism overseas, and the Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative.

At 2.30 pm on Tuesday 11 June, Committee Room 8, Palace of Westminster

  • Kate Allen, Director, Amnesty International UK
  • David Mepham, UK Director, Human Rights Watch
