Human rights and the rule of law in South America examined

The Foreign Affairs Committee will hold an evidence session on Global Britain and South America.

What the session will cover

In this fourth session of the inquiry, we will consider human rights and the rule of law in South America.

In particular, we will explore challenges connected to implementing the peace process in Colombia and the breakdown of the rule of law in Venezuela, asking whether the FCO could do more to protect citizens’ rights in the region.
