The Common Fisheries Policy

Inquiry status: Inquiry concluded, Government Response received

The objective of the current Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) is to ensure exploitation of living aquatic resources that provides sustainable economic, environmental and social conditions. It includes measures concerning the conservation and exploitation of marine biological resources, conditions of access, management of fleet capacity, control and enforcement, aquaculture, the common market organisation, and international relations.

The Committee is continuing its scrutiny of progress towards Common Fisheries Policy reform.
