Energy and Climate Change Committee
Report published and Government Response received.
The Government has published draft legislation on smart metering, supply and switching and competitive tendering for onshore transmission. The Committee is conducting pre-legislative scrutiny of these proposals to understand whether they are workable, necessary, efficient and clear.
The Committee intends to publish a report in April so that the Department of Energy and Climate Change has time to consider its recommendations and, if appropriate, reflect them in the final legislation.
Read all transcripts, written evidence and other material related to the Pre-legislative scrutiny of the Government’s draft legislation on energy inquiry.
