Nursing apprenticeships inquiry

Inquiry status: Concluded

Report published on Thursday 6 December 2018. Government Response published on Monday 3 March 2019.

On page 3, there is a reference to ‘Skills for Care’ – this should actually read ‘Skills for Health’.

In paragraph 33 of the Committee's report, the following sentence contains an error:

It is less than the £37,750 that universities receive in tuition fees for an equivalent full-time nursing degree, and on a par with the £27,777 it cost universities on average to deliver a nursing degree to one student, according to research conducted for HEFCE by KPMG.

It should be read as:

It is less than the £27,750 that universities receive in tuition fees for an equivalent full-time nursing degree, and less than the £27,777 it cost universities on average to deliver a nursing degree to one student, according to research conducted for HEFCE by KPMG.

Report published

The Committee focussed on how nursing degree apprenticeships are currently working as well as reasons behind the low level of take up since the scheme was announced in 2016.
