The Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee has published a Special Report to the House on the refusal of Dominic Cummings to appear before the Committee on 22nd May 2018.
The Chair, Damian Collins MP, has also written to the Speaker to ask that precedence be given to a motion for debate in the House, which would seek an Order for Mr Cummings to attend to give evidence.
Damian Collins MP, Chair of the DCMS Committee, said:
"We need Dominic Cummings to appear before our committee as a witness, so that he can clarify allegations raised with this Committee about the unlawful coordination of EU referendum campaigns, campaign spending, and misuse of people’s personal data. As the email correspondence attached to the report shows, we have made repeated, reasonable requests for him to appear, so far he has refused to do this.
The next stage in the process is for the Committee to seek the support of the whole House to order him to attend and give evidence. It is now a matter for the Speaker to consider our request for the motion to be debated."
